The Hill Racquets Club

Introduction

The Hill Racquets Club is a six-court, floodlit tennis club in Hemel Hempstead built around one idea: that every generation should find its game in the same place. Alongside all-weather courts there is a warm clubhouse and cafe, changing rooms and a members' lounge looking out over the baseline. The club runs LTA-accredited coaching from a first-ever lesson through to tournament level, covering juniors, adults, performance squads, cardio tennis and schools programmes, and keeps membership open and transparently priced for families and individuals alike.

The Brief

The Brief

The Hill came to Bond Media for a website that had to do two jobs at once: sell a club worth belonging to, and get people onto a court without friction.

Racquets clubs tend to publish a wall of timetables and price tables and leave visitors to work it out for themselves. The brief was to invert that. A parent looking for junior coaching, a returning player wanting a hit on Saturday and a competitive junior chasing a performance squad each needed their own clear route, with booking and membership never more than a click away, and the character of the club carried through rather than buried under admin.

The Result

The Result

The finished site reads like the club itself: open, warm and unfussy. Photography of the courts and clubhouse carries the atmosphere, while the copy keeps the promise that this is a place where the ball makes a true sound off the strings.

Coaching is split into juniors, adults and performance so visitors self-select in one step, each route presenting a pathway rather than a timetable. Facilities and membership are given proper space with pricing stated plainly, and Book a Court and Join sit persistently in the navigation, so the two actions the club actually cares about are always one tap away, on a phone at the side of a court as much as on a desktop.

Premium Features

Premium Features

To turn a club website into a booking and membership engine, Bond Media introduced a premium feature set focused on conversion, clarity and speed:

Persistent Booking & Join Actions Book a Court and Join held in the navigation on every page and every breakpoint, so the two highest-value actions are never more than one tap away.

Coaching Pathway Structure Juniors, adults and performance separated into distinct routes, each presenting a progression rather than a timetable, so visitors find the right programme in a single step.

Transparent Membership Presentation Membership options and pricing laid out in full with no hidden costs, removing the enquiry step that usually sits between interest and joining.

Mobile-First Performance Build A fast, lightweight build tuned for phones, because most court bookings happen on the move rather than at a desk.
